The house and garden as it is now.
The garden grows apace. I planted some lavender bushes, which don't take much work, but I'm beginning to think there are too many. Maybe we'll put a swingset there for the children as they grow?
Spot the kitten!
Avery left work with a nice golden handshake.
Avery surprised me very much with this; I wouldn't have expected him to take this offer. He cares too much about what his workmates think of him. But as he told me, he will make sure that his friends know what really happened; and he was ready to retire. And the cash was very welcome, as we think Lara's pregnant again.
Ace is a great Dad, so long as his TV is on in the background.
He and Lara are very happy to stay with us, with their little ones. I would be very disappointed if they were to move out; Avery helps a lot with the childcare and Lara and Ace are good at gardening.
I finally got my Money Tree. So our financial future is assured :) Ace immediately asked me whether he could give up his job now. I knew he was bored stiff at the grocery store, so I said yes, I didn't see why he shouldn't take over the gardening. Money Trees do have to be tended, and I'm enjoying making preserves and jams so much. Of course, someone still has to harvest stuff, but he and Lara know enough about gardening to do that now. Avery loves to garden too, but he mostly enjoys looking after and playing with the grandchildren.
